See Like a Dove

Let me be free from the way I was made to see

Let me see like a dove, only then will I see true

I surrender my cleverness, my thinkingness

my degree, my religion and my chains

Now would you cast scales from my eyes?

Would you baptize me in holy thoughts?

Surround me with opulence, wake me in softness,

Comfort me in golden cloth, delicate perfume

Baroque ceilings that touch the sky

But please, give me no burden, give me no cage

I sold heaviness many words ago

I am yours and I am a dove with desire to fly, you know

To live lightly and royally and be free

How can you contend, when you dreamed this into me?

Keep the French windows wide open,

I leave from the balcony tonight

As I rise in flight, your wind carries me peacefully

wherever these wings long to be
