A Lover's Home
I ascended the stairs of beauty with Plato
To behold Beauty from which all beauties came
In stately surrender we composed together,
a lover’s home
A lover’s home lays in a city of
Haunting elegance and poetic reverence
On the glistening Adriatic sea,
Where soft coral sunsets kiss our faces every evening
A lover’s home is the third tier of
a Viennese palace with a hidden balcony,
A stage for city prayers, coffee, croissants
And lovers’ rendezvous of course
How can a lover’s home be beautiful and true?
Let us make white walls of ornate doves
This will reveal the face of divine beauty
Let us make herringbone floors of sandalwood
This will resemble the form of divine creation
Let us make a kitchen of Saint Laurent marble
This will teach us finesse of immortality and divine strength
Ceilings that touch the sky will stir in us a heavenly mind,
Large arch windows turn our eyes to the light
Chandeliers, opulence for eternal claim
Floating red roses, the Love we became
Everything is resolved here
In a lover’s home
Sounds of La Vie en Rose here
With open spaces I am free
In my heart’s imagined dream
I fell in love with a lover’s home
Plato and I composed,
I remained there in stately surrender
Feeling beauty into life
Now that lover’s home
is my own
